JNPR was in the spotlight on TF1 on the 8 p.m. news during a topic dedicated to alcohol-free products. The opportunity to take you behind the scenes of our Corrèze distillery and to help you discover the few secrets that give this taste to our alcohol-free spirits.
Travel to Corrèze: Where it all begins
To understand how we manage to create an alcohol-free version that is close to a popular classic (gin), we take you to Corrèze, to the heart of our distillery. This is where the magic happens. The ingredients are the same, including the juniper berries that are usually used to make gin, verbena, water, but the key lies in the generosity of the spices we use. Valérie, our founder, explains: "We use 2 to 5x more than for a classic gin, because we have to extract the flavors without the help of alcohol. The process is then similar to the alcoholic version, with one detail close..." 👇
Distillation: The Art of Patience
This crucial detail is the duration of the distillation, which must be longer for the flavors to be there: “ We really want to capture the sensation of spice and the complexity that we find in some alcohols, but without the 'drunkenness. »
Although we can't yet recreate the warm, burning sensation of alcohol, the possibilities of alcohol-free are endless: "We can push the bitterness further, prolong the length in the mouth. Alcohol-free has a bright future. » explains Valérie de Sutter.
The Rise of Alcohol-Free
The non-alcoholic spirits market experiences growth of 25% each year, particularly during Dry January. And for good reason, more and more people are looking for alcohol-free alternatives to have a good time, without necessarily feeling obliged to consume alcoholic drinks, whether for health reasons, as a preference or to vary pleasures and have the choice as an aperitif. At JNPR, we are committed to meeting this growing demand by offering alcohol-free creations that awaken the senses and encourage originality.
