This is no ordinary ice cube.

In a cocktail, everything starts with the ice.

Not just any ice. Ice in which we've carefully embedded a fresh chili, so the decor begins right in the glass. Simple to make, stunning to serve.

To surprise your guests and add a spicy (and ultra-aesthetic) touch to your drinks, discover our simple technique for integrating a fresh chili directly into your ice cubes. "Wow" effect guaranteed from the first glance.

Materials needed:

- An ice cube tray (preferably with large cubes to completely enclose the chili)

- Fresh small red chilies

- Water

step 1

The first third

preparation

  • Fill the bottom of your ice cube tray with one-third water. Place in the freezer for about 1-2 hours to allow the base to harden. This step prevents the chili from floating and sticking out of the ice cube.

step 2

The placement

The placement

preparation

  • Remove the tray, gently place a fresh chili on the thin layer of nascent ice.

step 3

The blocking

preparation

  • Add a tiny drizzle of water to set the chili, then return to the freezer for 30 minutes.

preparation

  • Fill the remainder of the mold with water to the brim and allow to set completely in the freezer overnight.

Tip: For perfectly clear ice cubes

Boiling water before freezing it will eliminate dissolved gases, such as air, which can cause bubbles and make ice cubes cloudy. After boiling, let the water cool slightly before pouring it into your ice cube trays.

Which cocktail should you serve it with?

These spicy ice cubes are perfect for spicing up your non-alcoholic cocktails. Slip one into a martini glass and prepare our signature recipe: This is Not a Margarita with JNPR N°1. As it slowly melts, the ice cube will release a subtly warm twist that pairs perfectly with the fresh and herbaceous notes of JNPR N°1.

ingredients

    • 50 ml JNPR n°1
    • 30 ml lime juice
    • 10 ml orange syrup
    • (Salt)

preparation

Salt the rim of a coupe glass (see below for how to rim a glass). In a shaker, combine the orange syrup, JNPR n°1, lime juice, and ice. Shake vigorously. Strain into the coupe glass, discarding the ice.

*To frost the rim of the glass:

Spread salt on a plate. Moisten the rim of the glass by rubbing a lemon wedge around it. Invert the glass and dip the moistened rim into the salt, tilting it slightly and rotating it to achieve an even coating. Turn the glass upright and tap lightly to remove any excess salt.

Now it's your turn, get ready to party!
