What is Sober October?
It's Dry January!
In a society where we place increasing importance on our health and well-being, and in a world where we love challenges, Sober October has established itself as THE challenge of the year after Dry January!
The challenge?
No alcohol for 31 days starting October 1st. Enough to spend a Halloween evening... in complete sobriety (at least until midnight!).
For whom?
Well, that's for everyone! For all those who can never drink, for all those who can no longer drink, for all those who no longer want to drink, and then for all those who simply want to challenge themselves (and see what they are capable of)!
For what ?
The real question is: "Why not?" Are you fed up with rough mornings after parties and all sorts of excesses? Did you call your ex in the middle of a night out because you drank too much? Have you gained weight? Are you sleeping poorly? Are you worried about your health? And you definitely don't want to end up like your uncle, drunk at every family meal? What if we took a month-long break and adopted a healthier lifestyle?
The benefits?
According to a study from the University of Sussex, abstaining from alcohol, even for just a few days, significantly improves sleep quality (with all the resulting benefits), skin quality, and also leads to weight loss. This is because alcohol consumption can activate a part of the brain that controls hunger, making you more likely to feel hungry during or after drinking!
A month of sobriety can also have noticeable long-term effects, including controlling and moderating alcohol consumption, having much more energy on a daily basis, as well as a strengthened immune system (and yes, maybe the repeated colds this year weren't actually due to the cold, but rather to excessive drinking every weekend!).
How ?
You don't want to replace your alcoholic drinks with sugary, additive-laden beverages, but you also don't want to give up your aperitifs? Don't worry, our non-alcoholic spirits are here for you! Discover a multitude of alcohol-free cocktail recipes you can make at home in just 2 minutes, without feeling deprived! Here are two quick ideas: a non-alcoholic Negroni and a non-alcoholic Spritz.
